Health and Sustainable Development Network

The UK Public Health Association.  The UKPHA published in June 2007 Climates and Change (see www.ukpha.org.uk), developed by the UKPHA in conjunction with major partners and following a series of influential meetings, conferences and Think Tanks. It brings together a range of motivational ‘calls to action’ at all levels, which are being taken forward by an Action Group. 

The Climate and Health Council. Its remit is to mobilise health professionals to take action to limit climate change see www.climateandhealth.org

The Faculty of Public Health.  The Faculty www.fph.org.uk runs a Sustainable Development network group. Members of this network are invited to join the Faculty network group for regular discussion and communications.

The NHS Sustainable Development Unit.  The NHS SDU is a unit based in Cambridge providing leadership, support and policy input to ensure that the NHS is the leading public sector organisation promoting sustainable development and mitigating the effects of climate change. It was established in April 2008 by the NHS in England under the auspices of the Office of Strategic Health Authorities and overseen by the 10 SHA chief executives.

The Campaign for Greener Healthcare is part of Knowledge into Action. The Campaign for Greener Healthcare works closely with the relevant partners both within and outside the NHS to create achievable, lasting sustainability plans based on the best evidence from around the world.
